Toyota Sequoia in Kyrgyzstan: 4x4 Capability with Room for Seven
Most full-size 4x4 SUVs seat five. The Toyota Sequoia seats seven. For friend groups, larger families, or small teams traveling together, the Sequoia eliminates the need for a second vehicle.
When the Sequoia Makes Sense
- Groups of 5–7 travelers who want one vehicle. Everyone rides together, splits the fuel cost, and stays on the same schedule.
- Families with kids and gear: child seats, strollers, snacks, spare clothes, and a cooler all fit without stacking on laps.
- Extended trips with camping equipment: with the third row folded, the cargo area is cavernous.

On the Road: How the Sequoia Drives
The Sequoia handles the same gravel passes and river crossings as the rest of the Toyota 4x4 lineup. Its longer wheelbase makes it slightly less nimble on very tight switchbacks, but more stable on open gravel at speed. The 5.7L V8 (2010 model) is the most powerful engine option — useful at altitude and when climbing with seven people and a full trunk.
Route match: the Sequoia is ideal for the Bishkek–Son-Kul–Issyk-Kul triangle, where the roads are demanding but not extremely narrow. For very tight mountain tracks (Enilchek approach, Altyn-Arashan), the shorter 4Runner or Land Cruiser is a better fit.

Two Models Available
- 2010 Sequoia: 5.7L V8, 7 seats, full-time 4WD. The more powerful option.
- 2007 Sequoia: 4.7L V8, 7 seats, full-time 4WD. More economical rate.
→ Alternative choice: If your group is 4–5 people and you want maximum agility, the 4Runner. If group size matters less than comfort, the Land Cruiser.
